Mariners twist to reunion hits a home run

If you've attended enough sporting events in the past couple of years, especially in military towns, you've likely seen a surprise reunion. It's when a deployed soldier comes home without telling his family, and the team sets up a surprise reunion at the stadium. It's a home run for everyone involved, fans and family.

Give credit to the Seattle Mariners for coming up with a unique twist to it. Army First Sergeant Steven Smerer -- just home from Afghanistan -- was dressed as an umpire and his 13-year-old son Kyle was selected to "steal second" between innings. As Kyle sprinted in from right field, his father stopped him at second base to surprise him.

Those reunions get me every time. Check out the video on MLB.com.
