Resuming our All-Time Lineups series for an AL West matchup.
Now it wouldn't exactly be fair to include the entire history of the A's, who were one of the original American League teams when they were based in Philadelphia for their first 53 years, then in Kansas City for 13 years before moving to Oakland in 1968.
So the official A's all-time lineup goes all the way back to 1901, and includes Hall of Famers such as Jimmie Foxx, Napoleon Lajoie, Lefty Grove and Mickey Cochrane.
But for these purposes, and to try to even the teams, the matchup between the Los Angeles/Anaheim/California Angels and the A's will only include the teams that were based in California. The Angels were formed in 1962 as an expansion team.
Remember, this is the best player at each position in any one season, not a career record. Click through to check out the full lineups, rotations and arguments for the A's and Angels.
