We'll wait to hear from Ryan Braun in Arizona on Friday, and maybe he'll clarify some things. Perhaps there was a logical explanation why his testosterone levels spiked in a urine sample he provided last October. He had never tested positive before and was steadfast in his innocence, as those close to him believed.
Right now, there's still a lot of confusion about what this means for baseball's performance-enhancing drug policy, and how Braun beat it with an appeal that, according to several reports, was accepted because a courier didn't follow proper protocol in shipping the sample Braun gave back in October. It was the first time that any performance-enhancing drugs appeal was overturned in baseball history.
Braun, the reigning NL MVP, is essentially cleared in the eyes of Major League Baseball, but the court of public opinion will still weigh in.
