We move down to the Beltway for the next matchup in our All-Time Lineups series. It's Baltimore vs. Washington.
Both franchises started somewhere else, but for comparison purposes, we'll go with just the Orioles franchise (which was the St. Louis Browns before 1954) and keep the Montreal Expos (1969-2004) with the Nationals, who moved to Washington in 2005. (Perhaps we'll come back to the Browns later.)
Even though both franchises haven't won much in more than a decade, they've had their moments in history. In fact, I'd match up the Orioles all-time with just about anybody, which is remarkable considering they have less than 60 years of history in Baltimore. The Nationals/Expos have two Hall of Famers in their lineup, and perhaps a few more in coming years. Click on each team for the stats and arguments at each spot.
